We’re thrilled to shine a light on Jacqui Fehl, the brilliant artist behind our latest Dollylocks labels for the Dreadshop line. Jacqui is not only a remarkable artist but also a long-time supporter of Dollylocks—Alin Leslie, the founder of Dollylocks, was Jacqui’s original dreadlock artist over a decade ago!

Jacqui Fehl is a mixed media artist based in Asheville, NC, where she creates from her studio, STUDIO 2B7, at Wedge Studios in the River Arts District. Her vibrant and eclectic work has graced numerous galleries across the South, including the Jane Sandelin Gallery in Richmond, VA, Seven Sisters Craft Gallery in Black Mountain, NC, Mark Bettis Gallery in Asheville, NC, and Red Raven Art Company in Lancaster, PA.

Describing her art as a modern fusion of abstract whimsy and grunge, Jacqui’s creations are a playful exploration of materials. She employs acrylic paint, pastels, graphite, colored pencils, house paint, watercolors, inks, and collage in a dynamic process of layering and texturing. Her approach is a creative dance of adding and removing, resulting in unique and captivating pieces.

Jacqui’s distinctive style has earned her features in notable publications such as Wabi-Sabi Painting with Cold Wax by Serena Barton, The Art of Crayon by Lorraine Bell, Carolina Home and Garden Magazine, Rapid River Arts and Culture Magazine, Asheville Made, and The Laurel of Asheville.

We are incredibly grateful for Jacqui’s collaboration and her contribution to our labels. Her artistic vision perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Dollylocks, and we’re honored to have her as part of our creative family.
